ipod to stereo (no AUX port)

hey im looking to hook up my ipod to my stereo in my room.. the problem is that there is no auxilairy port (the stereo is abit dated).. there is only 2 sets of red & black wires that go to each speaker... i also have a small green coloured port for headfones, dunno if that will help the cause... i was just wondering if theres any way of me hookin em up.. mind u, i dont want to spend much money getting devices/cables!!!

Headphones and speakers are both OUT ports, are you absolutely sure there aren't any IN ports?
If not,
1. Does your stereo have a tape deck? If so, you could buy a cheap cassette adapter, like this:
2. If it doesn't, there are also (somewhat more expensive) FM transmitters available. If your stereo has a radio, that is.

Or you could spend 10-20 bucks on a quarter inch to RCA cable. Since you just want it for audio there's no sense buying a cable with video on it as well. Go to any electronics store and ask for one, they should have it. It plugs into the headphone jack on your iPod and has a red and black connector to match up with the ones you mentioned on your stereo. That's probably the cheapest solution I can recommend you.

I don't think he has RCAs, the red and black wires he mentioned are the speaker wires.
In this case the only options are FM transmitter/cassette adapter, as red rocket said.
