"better" is purely subjective
that's like saying "what is better, chicken or beef?"
so i'm assuming you want everyones opinion.
mine is that if you are somewhere that is brightly colored and well lit you would want a black one to frame the video giving you contrast and letting your eyes focus on it more easily.
on the other hand this could work exactly the opposite way in a darkly colored room. although i think that ultimately the black would create a better frame since the screens can really produce a pretty accurate, similar white to the ipod white, while it is nearly impossible to create an accurate pure black on any screen so the black frame will always remain a frame and will give you better focus.
if you want an a$$holish opinion, get a dang laptop. tv's weren't meant to be less than 17"
