Interesting issue:

I came home last night eager to update my iTUNES to version 7. The actual download and install worked flawlessly. I had iTUNES 6.x before and my iPOD was tied to that library on the MAC in question. I opened iTUNES 7 and it quickly went through updating my library. I plugged my iPOD Photo into the machine. iTUNES imediately updated my Podcasts. I let the iPOD charge over night. This morning I noticed the new capacity meter showed that I had all my space available. In other words, with the exception of my podcasts, my music was wiped from the iPOD! The music is still on MAC and I can reload it all (nearly 12,000 songs) but it will take some time to do this. Anybody have any ideas what happened?

No, I did not adjust any of my settings. I merely ran the upgrade, opened the app and plugged my iPOD in.

By the way, they're spelled "iTunes," "iPod" and "Mac."

Mine had wiped all my videos off but left my music. 25 mins later they were all back on though.

Some people are tired of seeing people consistently say "MAC" instead of "Mac," etc. If you are new to Macs and are posting on a Mac forum then get used to it.

Just ignore them.

I am not new to Macs (ahem). Was just adding emphasis to my frustration.

Comments like that make all Mac (ahem) users look like elitist snobs. Which I am not. I have my feet planted firmly in both worlds (PC and Mac). I work as a desktop support tech and provide help for both.

Still mystified as to why iTunes (ahem) decided that I did not need my music on my iPod (ahem) after the upgrade. I have since reloaded everything back onto it and all is well.

iTunes deleted the contents of my iPod then reloaded all of the songs on it. Seems like your iTunes forgot to reload

Same here, my videos are gone… did they come with no action done by your side?

Restoring the iPod didn't help.
