Believe it or not, I'm a music nut but haven't purchased an iPod yet. However, after noticing the new iPods that just came out on the 12th, I think I'm finally ready to shell out the cash for one.
Now, I've been running iTunes on my computer for a while, thanks to a friend that actually did her iPod stuff on my comp. I actually use it as my default media player, and have a lot of my music already saved into the library, making things even more convenient for when I finally do get an iPod.
Looking at everything that has just been released, I'm fairly confident that I'd like to purchase an 80gb iPod. The vast amount of room available on it is intriguing to me, and I actually have the extra money to get it rather than the 30gb. I see many people buying nano's, though, and I'm beginning to wonder whether I should just get something like an 8gb nano instead.
Anything I should know before diving into the purchase? Or should I wait for a new generation of iPods to unveil themselves? I hear an all video iPod is coming out soon, but I'm much more interested in the music, so I don't think I'd be interested in such a thing.
I'm also interested in buying some sort of armband so I can work out with it, too, and was wondering if anyone had success with a particular one.
Thanks in advance!

Eh, just get the 80GB model. If you're really a music nut you'll find that no iPod is too big, plus there's video and photos to consider, and it can also be used as a hard disk for back ups and storage.

If you want to exercise with it then get a Shuffle or Nano - the hard drive based 80GB is not suited for that much tumbling around.

I actually have one of these for my 60GB. Obviously you're going to be carrying less weight with the Nano but this works out pretty well for me.

I have to agree here. I got the 8GB nano to use when I workout, and it's great. My old 4G Ipod used to skip around or freeze at times because of the tumbling, the nano does not have that problem. I bought the armband or the nano as well, but I don't really use it, I just put the nano in my pocket. Depends on what you do, but the nano is great, no doubt.
