I don't have an iPod yet but both my sons do (my younger son just got a 2nd Gen Nano today for his BDay). Both my sons, my wife, and myself have our own account on this computer. Both my sons and myself listen to our own music on this computer.
Questions:
If I download songs from my user iTunes account to my son's Nano, what happens when he logs into his account and connects his Nano to the computer for the first time?
1a) Will my songs transfer into his account via his Nano?
1b) If "1a" happens, will my songs in my account no longer transfer into any other iPods?
2) What happens if my son logs into my other sons account and connects his iPod? Will my songs transfer to my sons account and will songs on my other son's account transfer to my son's new Nano?
My other son's iPod is one with a hard drive. Can I use his charger to charge my son's Nano?
Thanks to all who answer.
- Mark

You might try looking at the forum FAQ, but in short you can use as many iPods as you like on one computer, but if you have more songs on your computer that will fit on a nano, you will have to either manage the songs on it manually or select only certain playlists to be transferred.
I don't think you have to worry about your other questions. There aren't any weird restrictions about the number of iPods that can be used with iTunes Store purchases or anything. And yes, you can use the charger to charge the nano.

Thanks for the quick response.

I use a Shuffle and a color iPod on one Mac. My iTunes Library is of course way larger than the Shuffle, whenever I plug it in I get a dialogue box that asks if I want to update it and from which playlist. I created a playlist called Shuffle into which I add and remove music, and then update the Shuffle each time I charge it. When I update the big iPod I just update it with my entire library.

Thanks for the tip.

My mum has a shuffle and there is an Autofill option when its plugged in, where it can take random songs from any playlist or the whole library, and transfer to fill the shuffle. Does this work for a Nano too?
