Anyone heard of or try the myvu?

It's a personal eyepiece for watching video off your iPod.

Myvu.com/details_mfipod.html

Any thoughts?

There are lots of devices like this. This just happens to have an iPod remote built in. By the way, I love how they have the connector going to the top of the iPod on their site, when in fact it would connect to the dock port.

Ouch. Sorry I'm not too well-versed in the standards of what's cool and what's not

Yeah, though it looks like the connector does in fact go in the top of the case while another connector (maybe for the "ultra-thin battery pack"?) goes in the bottom. I'm not sure about that, though.

It can't go to the top -- there's no port for it to fit in, and it's obviously a dock connector.

Well I see that the battery pack plugs into the bottom port of the iPod, so there has to be some place to plug the headset into. I'm under the impression that the headset plugs into the top of the battery pack, which we can't see in the picture.

I wasn't saying the iPod has a port on the top. But the back pack cover has a hole at the top, so I'd imagine the headset has to plug in SOMEWHERE at the top, I dunno where.

I didn't see that there was a separate battery, but if something plugs into the top of the iPod itself, it has to take the form of a mini-plug. Of course, as you say, there may be something at the top of the battery pack that it plugs into, but that seems a little strange.

I bought my myvu a couple of months ago to use with the iPod (before the Made-for-iPod version came out), and I love it. I travel often, and this has made traveling easier and more enjoyable. The picture is crystal clear and the myvu itself is easy to use.

That's good to know. So... just to ease my curiosity, does the myvu plug into the top of the iPod, or to the top of the battery or what?

Thanks.

The myvu connects to the top of the battery pack, and the battery pack connects to the bottom of the iPod. I thought they made that pretty clear.

Yeah, totally clear...

I guess I just wouldn't normally expect a battery pack to have a video out port on it.
