I just installed iTunes 7.0 and then I dock my 60GB iPod G5 and I get the standard warning that the ipod is to not be disconnected, but that warning goes on forever with the screen showing the whole time, fully lit! . . . does anyone know how to fix this? i have found a temporary solution and that's to eject the ipod from the computer . . . help?

Are you ejecting the iPod in iTunes or the Finder?

That's actually normal behaviour under some circumstances (I think.) Try looking to see if usage for data is enabled - that'll stop it unmounting automatically.

iPod has two disconnect screens. They let you know when it is safe to unplug iPod from your computer's USB or FireWire port. Incorrectly disconnecting iPod while it is in use can damage data on iPod, or the computer's hard disk.

The first screen appears when you connect iPod to the computer.

My wife's new Nano displays this until it's ejected. It appears to be normal behavior.

My G5 30gb does the same thing. It is normal. Once you eject the iPod it should go away. The reason I think it does this is because while iTunes is open you could possibly be making changes (updating album art, creating a playlist etc etc.) to your music which would then sync to your iPod when you are finished. This is so it doesnt get disconnected while it is syncing or cause any other type of issue if you do not disconnect it before ejecting it as data might be being accessed by the computer.

My 5G 30GB has just started having trouble with the constant "Do Not Disconnect" screen but mine still stays on after I eject it. The first time it happened I rebooted it and when it came back on the hard drive was erased and when I reconnected it to the computer the disconnect screen came on like normal but the computer didn't show any signs of it being connected. Ya'll have any ideas on what I could do? Thanks.
