I just got my wife a new Nano and she loves it. But the Griffin EarJams I got her for the iPod we shared do not fit the earbuds that came with the Nano. Is this a new, smaller-sized earbud, just a fluke, or what?

All the new iPods now come with different earphones than before. So that's probably why they don't fit.

Thanks. I hadn't seen anything about that anywhere. I hope Griffin gets working on new EarJams, because they're very handy.

I didn't watch/listen to/read the transcript of the presentation-school is sort of all-encompassing during the week, ya know? I'd have thought someone would mention it elsewhere though...

I have a cousin who is a audiologist and her office has some special molds for holding the original earbuds.

She made a mold of my ear canals kind of like you would if you were getting hearing aids. They fit so well the only thing I feel is the weight of them.

The molds are VERY efficient and block out all outside noise. I wear them only when I am mowing the lawn.

She made them for me for free, but I think she said they would cost about $90 to have made.

The new ones are indeed smaller.

I've seen that sort of thing for hearing protection plugs; custom-molded earbuds would ROCK! But I doubt anyone around here is cool enough to do it. I'll check into it though... Thanks for the info!

Pretty much any audiologist's office should do it.

It's the kind of thing musicians get so they don't have monitor speakers on stage. Or they want to isolate their instrument or voice in a very large environment.

Should be easy to find near any largish city.
