I don't know where best to post this. I swear that I am not making this up. I had to put it up on here to see what people thought.

My iPod died and I requested service under warranty. The UPS bloke came to pick it up and was chatting about iPods as he seemed well practiced at boxing it up to go back. He told me that they had been told to expect to be very busy soon delivering a new device from Apple. I asked him what he meant by this. He said they had been told there would be a new iPod / phone / camera device released soon.

I did not prompt him in any way and he could not have known anything about me except that I owned an iPod.

I know I will be accused of fabricating this story but I promise the guy was standing on my doorstep this afternoon.

I hope he is for real. I am thinking of changing my mobile soon anyway…

I think the UPS guy is full of it. Apple is so tight lipped about this stuff that there's no way that they would warn UPS that they're about to become busy shipping a new product. Even if they did, I doubt UPS would let it filter all the way down to folks driving the trucks.

I don't think you fabricated the story (if you did, you've got some major problems ) but I think the chances of the UPS guy knowing anything about an Apple device launch are... Not good.
