When you get a brand new ipod do you have to configure it or set it up or something before you can put a movie on it? My 60gb video ipod is rejecting MPEG 4 movies (it says wont transfer because it wont play) but it is a MPEG 4 file. Does anybody know why iTunes wont transfer it?

Just because it is MPEG-4 doesn't mean that it will play. It has to meet certain requirements. Where did you get the file from? What resolution and bit rate is it? See the forum FAQ for more info.
