Arrgh. This has been one of those periods of totally instability that make me hate technology. After years of stability, I am having major problems with both my desktop and laptop.

This morning, my ipod lost its connection to my iMac (itunes 7.01). I am now trying to resync about 25 gigs of music , movies , etc. Each time I connect, iTunes gets the beach ball of death and hangs. I have to force quit and move on. Anyone know of ways to diagnose problems in this once super stable relationship? I have restarted, rebooted etc.

PS. not to confuse the issue but my Powerbook began crashing for the first time in its two year career after the last sofware update. I downgraded iTunes as it seemed to be on at each crash and it has been stable again. Is thsi version a buggy mess or am I just due my share of unrelated problems.

anyone have any thoughts? I messed with this for a few hours and nothing I am doing is making a difference.

I cannot get my iPod to sync, as once it connects, it causes iTunes to get the spinning ball of death and freeze.

Thats strange you're having such reproducable problems with itunes 7. I have itunes 7 on my powerbook and its been nothing but rock solid. I wonder what's causing all these people to have such consistent problems with itunes 7 and others having none at all. I wonder if there's something in common with all the people having problems.
