I played a movie on my 30GB Ipod Video and when it end i see that the battery is almost drain out of it juice. So i decide to recharge before the battery is fully gone. When i plug in the USB to charge, the Ipod first turn on then off then on again, and it heat up quickly too. But i never get past to the sreen where it say "DO NO DISCONNECT". I retry several other time but same thing happen, the Ipod keep turn on and off and it heat up around the scroll wheel. Can any one tell me what is wrong? I reset to the factory format but notin happen. Anyone tell me the soulution, i would be greatful

What is it that you expect it to do? It sounds pretty much normal to me. It should get warm when charging, and it will display the "do not disconnect" message until you eject the iPod from your computer.

no no i mean, when i connect the USB to the ipod, it keep turn on and off continously, my computer cant even detect the ipod to recharge, it never go to the "Do not Disconnect" screen, and when it turn and off simutantiously, the area around the scrolling turn hot, and i mean hot not the recharging hard kind, it like like u put ur finger over a candle. All in all it doesnt recharge, but it turn and off over and over again.

I'd try resetting the iPod - check Apple's support page for the right key combination for the newest ones. For my iPod photo, I it's the center and menu buttons held down together for a few seconds. It's fixed any problem mine has ever had - and connecting and syncing is the time I'm most likely to get glitches.

a) at 3 months, it's still under warranty. What the hell are you talking about, "waste"?

b) take it in to an apple store. 90% of the iPods I've seen that exhibit this kind of symptom have been ****ed by Windows, and simply connecting them to a Mac or an intact Windows system, using the appropriate button combinations (or charging them briefly via Firewire) will get them running long enough for a complete restore, after which they're good as new.
