iPod sees mp3's as QT movies - how to convert file type?

I have a few MP3 files which cannot be transferred to my iPod because they show up as QuickTime movie files.

Is there a way to just change the file type so they are seen as MP3 files (which they already are) not as QuickTime movie files? I do NOT want to just export them from QT Player Pro because that will re-compress the audio... right???

(these MP3's already have a iTunes icon set, not a QT icon set... in case that makes any difference)
