Hi, I have an Ipod Photo 30 gig that i bought in april of 2k5. It worked great for a year, then conked out on me, right after the warranty ran out. Sad isn't it? I've tried just about everything, but my computer is still having issues with it. The ipod itself powers on and functions, it just has no songs. My comp always says theres a drive read error and on the rare occation that it does recognize it. I have tried it out on other computers and macs, and same thing happens. Aside from making me a staunch ipod hater, this has put on the hunt for another mp3 player. Anyone know if I can fix it still(or some rare strategy that has worked) or should I just buy a new one.

Try restoring the iPod, if necessary forcing it into Disk Mode first.

And always, always buy Apple Care
