I am trying to upload my iTunes to a new iPod.
When I plug it in, it says,
"iTunes has detected a Macintosh formatted iPod. You must restore this iPod before you can use it on windows."

How do I go about doing that?

Well, the iPods, in my experience can only be used on one OS or the other. If it was formatted for a Mac it will not work (sync) on PC and vice-versa.

iTunes should offer to change the format to Windows for you. If it's new, the iPod has nothing on it, so all that will happen is that iTunes will reformat the drive on the iPod. That's all. It takes a few minutes and then your iPod is ready to sync with iTunes.

When you plug it in, iTunes should give you the overall iPod view (it shows your iPod at the top and gives you all sorts of information about it). On that page, near the middle is a button labeled "Restore." That's what you want. It'll warn you that you'll lose everything on the iPod, but you have nothing on it yet so that's ok.

Yes...
I did get that option, but right now I do not have internet on the computer with my iTunes.
So it looks like I am going to have to wait till Tuesday to put everything in my iPod.

You don't need an internet connection for setting up your iPod.

A Windows-formatted iPod WILL work with no problems on a Mac. A Mac-formatted iPod will NOT work on Windows, however - Windows is format-stupid.
