i was just wondering..

can you use a new (5th gen.) iPod on a, lets say G3 mac that dosnt have OSX? because i wanted to use my iPod on my iMac but i wasnt sure if it would work.. thanks.

no, you will have to get a 1st or 2nd generation ipod OR a newer computer OR osx and usb 2 with itunes 7. a 3rd, 4th, ipod photo will work with osx without usb2. you didn't mention what os you are running, but i BELIEVE you have to run at least os9 to install itunes. may be wrong on that though.

You need OS X to use anything since the iPod with clickwheel. You don't need USB 2. You can use 1, but it will be painfully slow.
