Hi All,

This is my first post on this forum so be patient. I currently have a 30G IPOD (5th Generation) and use Itunes version 6. I know there is a version 7 but I feel more comfortable with version 6 for now.

I have recently had to erase the hard drive on the IPOD due to some error wiping all songs videos etc, grrrr. I have just placed all my songs on the IPOD using the update auto feature.
I now have a problem with music videos. I load the video into the library and try to use manual update but it does not place he video on the IPOD. I then use the auto update and it places it on the IPOD under music videos. The only problem is that it leaves the music video in the song list as well?, I only want it to be accessed by the video list - music videos and not showing in the music folder under song list.

I did delete it from the song list but it also deleted it from the video list. My problem is that I don't want the videos cluttering up the song list when I want to play songs only.

Does this make sense and can anyone help?. Much appreciated all.

As far as I know the music videos will only show up under the song list in iTunes if that is how you have them categorized. If you don't want them to be in that list you could change the category to movie and that would place them under its own section.

Music videos show on song lists, I guess the rationale is that music videos are songs too. The only way to exclude them is to:

(1) Change the video type so something else ▲,

or

(2) Alter your playlists to exclude video files. Since you are still using iTunes 6, the easiest method is to create a playlist for all video files (dynamic or manual), then add a line to your other playlsts to exclude any item that is in the new video playlist.
