Good day to all. I am kinda techno goof. Had my I pod for 2 weeks before I opended it up, now its full and thats my problem. I have a 2g Nano holds up to 500 songs. Mine is full with 390 songs. How can I compress the files to get more on the Ipod???

In iTunes select your songs that aren't in the AAC format and go to Advance> Convert Songs to AAC. That should help you get some more songs on there. Welcome to MacNN!

You may have to re-rip the songs at a lower bit-rate. What did you rip your music at? 128kbps is decent for most music. At 160, 190, or 320, you're really just taking up extra space without much added fidelity.

Most of the songs I have already converted them to AAC files from I-tunes. before I found this site.

Most of the songs were improted from cd's and I-tunes. There are only a couple that are higher then 128.

I think I'm going to have to give this one to my kids and get me a bigger one.
