I just got an IPod Nano 2nd generation 2 gb for my birthday, however I am having some serious trouble.

1. I can't get my music from wmp to itunes. I don't have most of my music in the my music folder it just seems to be in my wmp.

2. When I connect my IPod and pull up itunes it does not immediatly sync and start pulling off what music is there. It just tells me do not disconnect. New Problem....the IPod Nano does not show up in the source panel. Is it because I have an old version of Itunes?

3. I'm ready to take the thing back and get a regular old mp3 player and forget this IPod stuff...but I hear it has good things...so someone convince me!

Forgive me for my ramblings...but I'm frustrated. Thanks to anyone that helps me out of a jam here.

Are you using the latest version of iTunes? I presume you are on a PC? Don't panic! We'll talk you through it!

The first problem is to find where the music is being stored in WMP, and then move it somewhere else.
The next question is are the files mp3s or in windows media player format (wma). ipods can play mp3s, but not wma. You will need to convert wma to mp3 - we can get to that if you need it!
When you connect your ipod, there should be a 'sync my ipod' button. There is also a preferences pane which will allow you to tell it to automatically sync - it's default behaviour may be not to.
