Sorry if it was already discussed, but i didn't find anything...
there are 2Gb models for U$ 99 and 4Gb for U$ 149...
Anyone had problems with refurbs iPods??

Hi Doc.

I just bought a refurb 30GB iPod Photo. The first evening I had it, I was greeted with a sad Mac icon, an exclamation point/folder icon, inability to sync up my iTunes library, inability to restore the iPod, and inability to mount the iPod on the desktop. (Still, it looked like brand new.)

Called Apple, sent the iPod back, and the replacement (also a refurb) has, so far, functioned as it should.

This is my third experience buying a refurb from Apple and two of those have been negative.

thanks Dr. Wahnsinn, i think maybe i will not buy a refurb then... I will be visiting US in feb but here in brazil not all apple stores have the lastest generation ipods and i think if a got a malfunction refurb iPod i will have troubles here.

DO NOT USE refurbdepot.com
I ordered a 40gb HP iPod in August; recieved it three weeks later completely scratched + the hardware did not work. Sent it back; they sent me another, even though I did not ask for one -- got that in mid-September. Scratched, hardware doesn't work again. Sent it back, wrote them a note + email: KEEP IT. They send a third one in mid-October. Thankfully, that one worked; but it is definately not worth dealing with them. The only reason they probably even sent extras was because i was disputing the credit card bill, and had not paid yet.

... just in case you were thinking of using refurbdepot.

Well, after a week or so of online comparison shopping (including E-Bay) I pulled the trigger an hour ago on a 30Gb Video refurb from Apple. Now I see Dr. Wahnsinn's post above.
Still... I'm optimistic.

And I wasn't confident with the looks of RefurbDepot for some reason. Glad I balked.

I wasn't happy with my 4th gen. 40gb iPod. I'm on my second one and its horrible. Though, I did buy a refurb PB 12" and it works fantastic!

I bought a refurbished iPod (Video 30) last September. It works fine.

Mine just arrived (30 Vid)... WIN formatted and NO sample files. Mooks. Maybe on the CD.

Looks fine. I'll post an update later or tomorrow. Won't load much as I'm waiting for a Cardbus USB 2.0 adapter. Probably come Monday when I'm out. Of course.
