The Chrysler headline on MacNN reminded me of a product I've been using since June. The iMIV from Sensolutions (
http://www.imiv.ca/ ) allows iPod control from the steering wheel or headunit but the coolest feature is the fact that iPod video owners can play their video on the Volvo factory Navigation screen.
Utilizing the Satellite Radio channel on the headunit, the iMIV can display song, artist titles, and playlist titles. With Simple & Advanced modes, you can retain iPod control on the iPod or switch to advanced and control it from the headunit or steering wheel controls.

The unit is not much larger than a 60gig video iPod and can easily fit under the dash. Sensolutions looks to expand to VW & Audi in the future so for now only Volvo. I think the best part of this product is the fact that it started as a grassroots effort by a young guy in Amsterdam and through feedback on a Volvo internet forum, it grew into a product that is now sold in several countries.
if you own an '01-07 Volvo I recommend this product over the USA Spec, Volvo's own iPod adapter and other adapters available. (XC90, S40 and other M.O.S.T. equipped cars need to wait a little longer)
