my iPod video (1st gen) does NOT register when i plug it in to update my podcasts, etc.
it used to show the name of my iPod in iTunes whenever i plugged it in, but it no longer does that. however, i'm able to play music using DLO Travel Transpod(doc) in my car.
i took it to a nearby Apple store, and the iPod bar guy tried plugging it in using the store's cable, but it didn't show up in iTunes or on desktop either. he said that i may need to replace the bottom part of the iPod (maybe the prong(s) is damaged), but i was wondering if this has happened to anyone.

i tried to reset everything several times, but it just doesn't work.
i only have it for less than a year and it kinda sucks...

if you know anything as to how to possibly fix it, or any other things i could try before sending it to fix or buy another one, i'd appreciate it.

I thought iPod is warrenty for 1yr, and if you only had it for less then a yr, why bother trying to fix it yourself or buy another one, just send it back to Apple and have them either fix it or have it replace with another refub unit.

Ooops, yeah, i thought i had it for less than a year, but actually i had it for over a year now and that it is out of warranty....ugh.
