Anyone wonder if the iPhone can connect via bluetooth to another carrier's mobile phone, say another carrier with 3G? That'd be sweet, but likely to be locked down... Would be pleased if Apple produced the next generation of iPods (sans phone functions) with bluetooth that could connect via bluetooth to mobile phones... Who's with me??!!!

According to this article, you should be able to do si as long as your 3G phone supports the feature. Not sure about the source though as I have not heard of the guy. YMMV
