Hello All,
Ipod Video (5th gen, early model) – 30 GB, v1.2.1
ITunes v7, Powermac Dual G4, Tiger v10.4.8
Upon syncing iPod, when I “Eject” from Finder (iPod doesn’t Eject by itself like my old 3rd gen under iTunes v4.9 did) I get a confusing error message (from iTunes or the System) most times that doesn’t allow me to”eject”:
“The iPod_____ cannot be updated. The required file is in use”
During that time I get updating/syncing until I get the iTunes message that “the iPod update is com-plete”. Itunes is open when all this is happening. I am doing the very same syncing as with my 3rd gen iPod.
Am not a “Rookie” Am an experienced 3rd gen iPod podcast/music library user for over 2 years. Am just not familiar with v7 of iTunes yet.
So what am I missing in iTunes v7? Or the new iPod Video? Is this some “bug” or, am I shutting it down improperly – by holding down the “Pause” button until the light goes out?
The existing Forum questions, the FACs or even the Apple manual that came with the packing seem to be of no help, so I hoped someone out there might have some sage advice.
Thanks & cheers,
-dave
