I just ordered a new Nano and I was wondering if people who have them use a case or sleeve or if they found it not to be needed.

If you do use one which do you have?

I have a silicon sleeve case on mine, which makes it better in a way because its easier to grip and all the controls are still available.

Look after my manor, or I will bum you, literally, to death.

See this Nano is replacing a Video iPod I had and that got a couple of scratches on the screen which made it very annoying and difficult to use. I don't want to repeat this with the Nano.

Is the screen on the new Nano just as prone to scratching and nicks? OR should I go with a case with some kind of screen protector?

I picked up a silicon case with screen protector after I got my 2G nano. I'm not going to risk any nicks.

I went without a case for my red nano since I bought it late November 2006. After being inside my pockets along with a wallet or keys, the only noticeable scratches are on the Apple logo on the back and a very faint ones on the click wheel. Also, there are a few unnoticeable nicks on the top and bottom edges.

I'm not worried so much about scratches, but I am worried about my iPod nano rendered useless after a hard fall to a hard floor. A few times it was wrought from my pockets or hands only to be narrowly saved by the tight connection to my headphones.

So I bought a clear hard plastic case--a Contour Design iSee v2 to be exact. I also got it for the belt clip whenever I felt like using it.
