I'm currently serving in the Solomon Islands and inadvertently left my iPod Shuffle in my shirt pocket when I put my dirty laundry in today. The Solomon Islander local who does the laundering was very apologetic when I went to pick up my washing, telling me that my Shuffle had been not only thru the wash, but the clothes drier too. Of course it wasn't his fault at all, and I spent a couple of minutes calming him, all the while accepting of course that I was now going to be iPod-less.

But the funny thing is I get back to my room and test the little thing and it's working perfectly! Maybe the earbuds are a little bit sensitive to loudness now, but that might just be me trying to find a difference from before.

Can't believe how sturdy these iPod Shuffles are. It's already been dropped several times, trodden on, and worn daily while out running and walking, sweating a river all over it. The extremely humid conditions in the Solomons appear to have no affect on it.

Gotta hand it to Apple for making such a sturdy little product. This is my first iPod and it fits my needs perfectly. Maybe a camo version would be nice, seeing they've introduced colours now.

The Solomon Islands (an archipelago nation made up of some 1000 islands, with a population of around 550,000 wonderfully friendly people) are directly east of Papua New Guinea, almost directly north of Brisbane Australia.

The shuffles and Nanos have a reputation for durability.

The regular iPods, on the other hand...

Let's just say I had three 30GB photos fail on me.
Linkinus is king.
