I dropped my 5G Video iPod and it bounced down about five concrete steps. Now there's a crack in the screen and it looks like it's bleeding gray LCD fluid. It still works, but I want to know:

Is it worth getting it repaired? How much would a new screen cost?

* Is there any danger of the LCD fluid leaking out and causing damage?

iResq for iPod (formerly iPodResQ)

I used them when my Titanium PowerBook G4 hinge broke. They repaired it quickly and sent it back to me quickly. I ordered it, they overnighted me a box, I overnighted the computer to them, they fixed it, and overnighted it back to me. Took 3 days total. $270.

They quote $109.00 for first generation video iPod screens ($80 if you want to install it yourself), and $119 for second generation (60% brighter) screens ($90 if you want to install it yourself).

Apparently the brighter screen works with both first and second gen video iPods.
