What cool iPhone accessories do you think they'll come out with? Of course since the iPhone shares the same connector as the iPod, some of its accessories will still be usable by the iPhone, but what NEW accessories would be good for the iPhone.

I think someone should come up with a flash memory adapter for the iPhone that you can plug into the bottom and add more capacity to it. So you could go and buy a 4GB stick and pop it on your iPhone and have 4GB more data storage. You could store movies or music or whatever on there and swap them out whenever you want.

Be weird from a software point of view.
Opps, I popped out my 4 GB, there goes half my library!

Well, the only thing that the iPhone NEEDS are cases. And screen protectors.

The iPhone's screen has to be touched by human hands. Can't do it through gloves. No word on whether you can do it through a screen protector, and if you could, it would probably have to be specially designed.
I must admit that one major good thing about the iPhones' very early announcement is that accessory makers will have a very long lead time to design snazzy stuff for it.

If I'm buying a $500 phone, which I am, there damn well better be an appropriately robust case/protector available. Hopefully Apple will make one. Hopefully it will be ready on release day.

Well, if the Multi-touch works like the Click Wheel or a trackpad, you can have a layer of plastic over it and it'll still work.

It doesn't. I specifically remember reading an article (I think from TIME) that said that it will NOT work through clothing. I'm pretty sure it uses the electrical impulses transmitted by your body to sense touch.
I may be wrong on the method, but it won't sense through cloth. Here's hoping it'll sense through a screen protector.

Well, I can't use a stylus or fingernail for trackpads and Click Wheels, either. Those require the static from your fingertips, and my iPod works through clothing (when it's not in its case, cuz then there's silicone and cloth covering the wheel). The electrical impulses can still travel, IIRC.

Well, take it as you want.
We'll see when it's released.

I'm sure Apple will come out with a screen protector that is all about the experience of protection.
After all, that is what they are good at. The user experience.
