How does apple keep the iPod_Control folder on an iPod from appearing in the finder? I can see/work with my files in the terminal, but I'm just interested how Apple goes about keeping the music folders hidden on an iPod.

This was supposed to be in the OS X forum, but someone moved it to iPod. I'm trying to add the invisible flag to some other files in the finder... pretty sure that's not really iPod related, iPod just utilizes this method. But whatever.

I believe it has something to do with..

"If you're using Windows and you add a . in front of a file or folder, it won't show up in Finder on your Mac."

Like on a fileserver maybe? How .htaccess is a folder.

Not sure.

Yeah, adding a period before a file/folder name will hide it in the finder, but that's not the case in this situation. The folder name is exactly "iPod_Control" (no quotes)

You can set the HFS invisibility flag.
