I'm looking for a cable with which to connect my iPod 5G to the external AUX port (3.5mm miniplug) on my car stereo. I am only interested in cables that send line-out audio via the dock connecter, for sound quality as well as because I want to be able to control volume via my stereo rather than having to fiddle with my iPod while I'm driving.
These are the possibilities I've come up with. Some solutions allow for charging, some are just audio cables. I can't tell if the Belkin solution allows for direct connection to an AUX port, or if an FM transmitter/cassette adaptor are the only solutions. Prices range from around $10 for the simple audio cables up to $40 or so for those that also charge.
Has anyone had experiences with any of these, either positive or negative? Thanks in advance for any help.
Hey, I'm looking for the same thing. We just bought a new Prius and are excited to hook up our iPods directly rather than using the FM transmitter we've always fought with. I haven't started looking into cables yet, so your links are quite useful. If I find anything new I'll post it here.
