what are/could be some of the ways to get more then 5 hours talk/16H music out of the iphone. ipods have external batery packs but is there something you could also use with the iphone?
i will be buying the phone to replace my recently dead ipod, broken leisure camera, and boring phone and want to be able to actully use it with out worrying about time.

I'm sure something like that will be out shortly after the iPhone's release.

Since the iPhone uses the standard iPod dock connector, any external battery for the iPod should work.

One would imagine that they wouldn't supply the required voltage to power the iPhone?
Maybe?

We won't know for sure until it comes out, but considering that the dock connector is used for lots of iPod models from the nano to the full-sized models, I don't think that will be an issue for the iPhone.

The whole point of the dock connector is that it's one unified connector for all iPods. You may be thinking of the dock itself, which does come in different shapes depending on the model of iPod (since it has to fit the iPod's body fairly closely to allow it to stand up in the dock). But the dock connector itself is the same.

I wish Apple would add a magnetic power adapter to the iPhone for charging on the road - just like the MacBooks. That would solve all of our problems.
