How could I transfer some CD's to my MP3 player? Is specific software required. I know I should have an ipod instead, but the MP3 player was a 'gift with purchase.'

Silly question - what does the NN stand for in nnforums?

Use iTunes or one of the million other jukebox apps to rip the CDs and encode them as MP3s. Then use the software that came with your MP3 player to transfer the songs over (or maybe just mount it as mass storage and copy them over manually).

NN is News Network AFAIK.

iTunes is nice, but CD Stack is a great/fast/easy shareware app that allows you to rip your MP3s with the LAME encoding engine.

Both iTunes (Mac) and Windows Media Player (Windows) can rip CD to mP3 audio.
Both are free. :-)

It would be nice if the creator of this thread actually lists the brand name of this MP3 player, it would make answering the question much more accurate. Unless, of course this MP3 player is one of those no name brands you find at the local drugstore (like Lifelong Electronics).

I don't think that the brand of his player makes the slightest difference to the process of converting audio CDs to mp3, and his question was suitably answered more than three weeks ago.
