My ipod was giving me problems the other day. It kept popping up in Itunes as corrupted. I restored it and that problem went away, but now I am plauged with a new one. All of my videos will not transfer onto the ipod. They are all mpeg-4 or m4v. Even the ones that are bought from the itunes store will not transfer onto the Ipod. An error pops up when I hit sync that says they are not formated for the ipod. I am not sure if this is a problem with my ipod or itunes, but both of the softwares are up to date with the latest versions. If any body has any idea on this situation it would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,
~Twinkie

The problem would appear to be with either iTunes or your system.

I assume you're running Windows? This sort of thing is fairly common with Windows in my experience.

Try completely de-installing iTunes and re-installing it; my hunch is a complete Windows re-install might be in order.

I have similar problem, but not running Windows! Some, but not all, videos will not go onto iPod. Even some video podcasts will not go, says they cannot be played on this iPod (80 gig Gen 5.5 -- latest). One video podcast actually ended up in my "movies" list on the MacBook, but does not transfer to iPod there (movies) either.

Anyone??

Sometimes I find flushing a movie through iSquint fixes problems.

I forgot to mention that I am running Mac os X 10.4.6 on a 1 ghz upgraded G4 processor. I have hardly ever had problems with the system up until now when the 10.4.9 update seems to break my install and won't let me view the login screen, forcing me to archive and install. It's possible that on the last archive and install some file caches got messed up. I am going to try to delete the .plist for itunes. If that doesn't work is there a way to rebuild your itunes library with a key combination like you can with iphoto or would i have to reimport them all manually?

*Bump*

Still haven't figured anything out, but now my sister's Ipod seems to be doing the same thing on her computer. So I guess its not hardware based. Is anyone else experiencing problems like this or have a fix for it?
