Hi all, my ipod nano keeps showing an empty song list after a failed sync the other day. I have tried syncing again -- iTunes seems to copy the files, but after ejecting the ipod, I keep getting a blank songlist. Plug the ipod again, and a new sync begins.

Of course I tried resetting and restoring the ipod, to no avail.

I have even tried updating to the latest firmware (1.1.3), but after the updater ends, I don't get a dialog asking for the ipod's name. Instead, itunes starts syncing again, and I can see the firmware has not been updated (1.1.2)

I cannot even change the ipod's name using itunes: when I connect the ipod again, it shows the old name.

Any help will be appreciated

Another test, mounting the Ipod, write a file to it (using vim in Terminal, cd /Volumes/MyIpodName) , and after ejecting and plugging it again, my file isn't there.

I even tried formatting the disk using Disk Utility, still no cigar.

I'm having the same stupid problem. It's driving me crazy. I'm not even able to click the "restore" button. It's disabled.
