Hey All,
I used to have a 4th Generation iPod and had the wall charger that went with it. I no longer have the iPod, but a friend recently got the 2nd genteration nano. Can I give them the charge to charge up their iPod with no issues? My two worries are that it uses firewire and iPods don't use that anymore, and/or the voltage might be different and fry it. So will this work?

Thanks.

There is no difference in voltage, and DC is DC, 2 of the prongs in a USB port are for power and 2 of the prongs in a FW port are for power.
Signature depreciated.

My friend charges his Nano with an old Firewire charger. It'll be fine.

In fact, charging via Firewire can be better than charging via USB.

In cases where the battery has been *extremely* depleted, Firewire power has a much better chance of recovering the supposedly dead iPod.
