Hey i am new here
I am hoping someone can solve this problem for me

I got a used ipod video 30gb from a friend but it has some problems. I can put songs on it fine, but when i press play, no sound comes out. However, the clicker noise can be heard through the earphones, so I dont think its the headphone jack. I tried restoring and updating itunes. But still doesnt work

Any ideas? Thanks

Edit* Thought I'd add, theres slight crackling when music should be playing

Not the original, but I have tried at least 2 different working headphones.

If you've tried two different pairs of headphones, it sounds like there's a hardware problem with your iPod. If it's still under warranty, take it to an Apple Store near you. Go online first and schedule an appointment.

Unfortunately, the warranty is expired
Would it be the headphone jack thats not working? The thing is, I can hear the clicking of the wheel in the headphones when i go thru menus

very wierd
