How do I get songs from the computer to my ipod

I found a song i really like but its not on itunes, and it is driving me crazy to get on my ipod.  If anyone knows how to do that can you help me  thank you.

What format is the file??? a little more information might help ppl to help you!!!
If its an mp3 just drag it into itunes the sync your ipod!!!

If you double-click the file and it plays, then drag it into your iTunes library. If not, it won't play. You'll have to find the same song somewhere else.

if you go on youtube.com and type (Basshunter-i can walk on water i can fly) you will be able to listen to the song.

OK. First you have to download the file. I suggest searching Google for "download youtube video". That lead me to http://www.techcrunch.com/get-youtube-movie/
Put the youtube URL (copied from the youtube page) into that download page and click the download link. That gets the file to your desktop. Let me know when you've done that.
