Okay, so my iPOD will not shut off. I do not want to have to restore it because I recently bought a laptop to replace my PC and I do not have almost 2000 of my songs from my PC. I have tried to let it run down, but it does not work, and it will not let me reset it. Any advice please?

I had this problem with mine once when I didn't correctly "eject" the iPod from the computer. Solution was merely to plug it back in, eject it from iTunes, wait for the iPod to disconnect correctly and then it worked.

Sorry I can't get more scientific then once instance, but it's worth a shot.

I've tried that, but it hasn't worked. It still wont let me turn it off or reset it. The screen just goes dim.

I have the same problem. i usually play a song and then try sleeping it. Sometimes i have to tinker away and be patient. also, make sure all alarms are off (unless you use them) so it turns off and stays off.

1. Did you do a click wheel reset?

2. Did you plug into the wall? (One time my 4G seemed completely FUBAR until I pugged into the wall.)

Oh thank you so much! Plugging it into the wall overnight made it work! Now I don't have to go through the hassle of restoring it! Thank you!!!!
