Does anybody know if the stores that carry the iPhone (I'm guessing cingular/att mostly) will also carry cases for the iPhone? How about screen protectors. I have an iPod and I am fearful that the iphone will be a fingerprint magnet as well so I'm looking for some protection for this min-portable computer =)
I saw a site that carries iPhone cases, looks pretty good: iQase Anybody know anything about them, ordered from them, or know of any other good ipHone accessory sites?

I actually bought one, a black SiDE, just got it today and its of good quality i must say. I just don't like the 'Qase' logo in bright white on the front. I will remove it promptly!

I feel absolutely no need to buy or use a case for my iPhone. Cases ruin the iPod experience for me, and I'm sure the same applies to iPhone. I've never dropped my iPod - cases just get in the way.

Well since no one offers accidental loss/damage insurance yet, $35 seems like a cheap protection plan to me. I hope you never drop the iPhone but thats a 5 or 6 hundred dollar gamble i don't want to take.

I've never really used an iPod case either. I'm just very careful with my devices, and I've never had any problems. Still, the idea of dropping the iPhone is a little worrying.
loveanh -- Could you resize your pictures so they don't make this thread overly wide?
By the way, people might want to think about waiting a little bit before buying accessories. As I suspected, most if not all iPhone accessory makers have not actually had any access to a real iPhone, which could mean that their products have flaws they don't know about.

BTW - what happened to the forums doing that auto resizing thing? That was a great feature.

It seems to have stopped working for some reason and we don't know why. As you may have noticed, there have been a few technical issues with the forums recently.

Ahh, well I'm glad it wasn't removed purposefully.

Hmm... not overly thrilled with the case offerings yet. If I do end up w/ an iPhone, I'm not sure I'll even get a case anyway.
[off topic] why was the original poster banned? As far as I can see, that was his one and only post.

Yeah, I'm not a big fan of cases, especially for Apple products. Had a case for my iPod, used it for about 2 weeks and gave it away. Its too damn beautiful to cover up like that. I've never dropped my iPod <knock on wood>, so I'm confident my iPhone will be safe in my hands. Its the people I let play with it I'm worried about.

I didn't ban him, but new posters that pretend to ask questions about a product as a way of advertising are pretty common, so he may have been a spammer. Generally, we delete the thread in question when that happens, though, and that wasn't done in this case, so I'm not sure what the situation was. In any case, I think I'm going to go ahead and close this thread and start a general iPhone accessories thread.
