Works for me. I'll mainly use the web when I'm on a wifi network, sitting at home or work. I'll only connect over EDGE for things like movie times (I wish there was a widget; maybe with Leopard's release) and maps.

Besides, does anyone still Yahoo? I don't.

eh it does have shortcomings but for me at least its no big deal. I sent 2 yes only 2 MMS messages in my life and it wasn't even important. Internet on edge isn't bothersome to me since I never even used my Razr for the web so i wont miss it but if i need it at least i know it will be there and for right now I could care less about the EDGE speed. This is iPhone version 1.0, if all are expecting a perfect phone...don't! I know what I'm getting into and if your complaining about it now and still by the phone don't even think of coming on here and complaining. Those that complain about the first version of this are probrobly the same people that complain about Alpha and Beta software being buggy!

AT&T's EDGE network is slow... which makes it all the stranger that Apple didn't add HSPDA support.

No, but you better believe it will be available in v2. They'll work out the battery issues through power management and better chips, so it will have the same batter life as the current version. Come MWSF my wife will be getting a v1.0 iPhone
