Hey guys, I got sort of a weird question about the iPhone. I looked and even went to Apple to ask and no one could really provide a answer for me. My contract runs out in July so I was wondering some things about the phone. I currently own a RAZR and I'm happy.

I work for a fire department and I usually keep my phone on me in case of emergencies or if I need to discuss information without scanner land listening in. So if I may bother you with questions.

How will this glass screen hold up?
How will this phone hold up in a fire? Granted it will be inside my turnout gear so it will be exposed to lots of heat 400 + degrees, sweat, water, and various tools that will be pushed against it.

I really can find a answer for that but was wondering what would you guys recommend. By the way, the RAZR is my 4th phone this year.

If this is your 4th phone of the year I wouldn't bother with an iPhone. I'm sure under the conditions describe it'll break. But you never know.

I think it would hold up just as well as any Phone would in a fire. Expose it to flame and it burns. Pull any phone, be it a Razr or IPhone out in a smokey polluted enviroment its gonna take some damage. Now, if it's in a case, or has screen protectors etc, it will fare a little better. However, if your iPhone rings in such a situation, leave it in your fireproof pocket and stuff the bluetooth earpiece in your ear and use it. The iPhone will rest safely in your pocket! Now, about the phone calls out? Hmm? Does AT&T have voice command? My sprint does, I can make a call from my bluetooth without ever taking it out my pocket..

You can use voice commands with other AT&T phones, but not the iPhone. At least not yet.

haha i promise I wont be making a call in a fire unless I know I am about to die. It will stay in my uniform pants pocket or belt holder. under my protective gear.
