There were plenty of phones in San Francisco, the line was gone by 7p and I heard the same thing was true in New York.

My brother went to the Apple store in Dallas around 9pm and there were plenty of iPhones. He bought 2. The whole thing took him about 10 minutes.


I live in Los Angeles, and I heard that they are sold out. You'll need to call and see....

The lead time on the Apple store is 2-4 weeks, so I don't think there is a shortage.

Looks like there are plenty to go around in a lot of places, even with the lines and such. Apple said they tried to make as many as they possibly could to meet demand, and I think they did a pretty good job.

There weren't nearly enough where I was -- I'd guess half of the people lined up went away without a device, although I didn't stick around to see the aftermath. I think they underestimated demand here.

looks like at&t got jobbed at their stores, i'm sure they're all sold out, while apple has plenty at every location. Very nice.

so i just got back from the Pasadena store with 2 iphones in my hand . . . . i arrived at 9am sharp and there was a line of about 25 people already! I guess i'm gonna have to end up waiting for this thing . . but it wasn't bad at all . . . had cougar standing in front of me asking all these questions, so the time flew by . . . by the time i got to the cashier . . . the stock boys are telling the mgr they only have 15 left and this is with the line growing to 40 by the time I left . . . . I talked to the security guy and they said they had 1000 people go through the doors yesterday . . . just thought i'd pass on the info!
