My parents each got an iPhone, but they activated/sync'd them both on my mom's OSX account. Oops. I'm trying to help them get my dad's sync'd with his account, but I'm not sure what will happen when he tries to sync his phone with a new account. He doesn't want all my mom's addresses syncing back to his Address Book, for instance. He just wants to replace everything on his phone with his stuff. Is iTunes smart enough to deal with this? Is it smart enough not to automatically sync his phone with her account, and vice versa, if both phones are connected and they are switching accounts back and forth? I know it has trouble with my iPod and my wife's iPod on our computer.

thanks,
kman

Anyone? I tried syncing my iPhone with my wife's account and it said she didn't have permission. This is good news.

Any idea how to reset everything to allow it? I see in Settings that you can erase the contents on the iPhone, but I don't know if this will allow you to then sync it with a new account or if it will still come up with the permissions error (and, no, I'm not going to try it with mine ). How about a software restore?

I don't want to try troubleshooting this over the phone with my dad as that can be quite frustrating so any info would be great.

kman
