Pretty good overview. Your co-host seemed a little out of her depth in places. For the phone features, I probably would have spent a little more time showing how the iPhone was different from other phones (ease of setting up conference calls, etc).
A few comments:
I agree that all applications should support horizontal mode. I hope they fix that.
A minor point, but docking connectors have been standard for iPods since the dock was first introduced. The only problem is that because iPods are physically different sizes, you do sometimes need an adapter to get them to sit properly in the dock.
I think it's a little strange to declare that the iPhone feature isn't as good as a regular iPod simply because it doesn't have as much storage as the full-sized iPods. It has the same storage as the most popular iPods (the nanos) and arguably an improved interface.
If you really like to manually manage your music and videos, you could just set up a playlist for whatever you want on your iPhone and have it sync everything on that playlist. Then you can drag and drop whatever you like to that playlist without worrying about checking the boxes for individual items on the iPhone menu in iTunes. It's more or less functionally equivalent to doing it manually, although you do have to go through the sync process to get it to show up on your phone.
