I understand that one can cancel the iPhone contract within the first 30 days and avoid the early termination penalty of $175. But then what? I couldn't find any confirmation on if I would then be able to use my iPhone with a GoPhone plan.

Basically, I thought that I wouldn't be able to use GoPhone since my credit is good and I was "approved" at the AT&T store. Now I see that I could have signed up using SSN 999-99-9999 and got access to the GoPhone plans (see here). The reason I want this is I hate contracts, and two years is a very long time. So anyone know if its possible to cancel my contract in my 30 day period and re-activate my iPhone as a GoPhone?

Thanks!

I'm not convinced that using the Go-Phone plans with the iPhone is such a good idea. While you don't have the contract, it's not a very good deal for what you get, first of all. Plus people say that they are pestered by messages telling them how much they have used, even if they haven't used anything. I also don't know if it's possible to cancel an account that's already been activated and then switch to the prepaid plan. You might want to call AT&T about that.
