I have an iPhone on order. We currently live in Maine but are moving to Minnesota in a couple of weeks. I want to use the iPhone during the move, so I will be activating the phone in Maine. However, I would like the phone number to be a Minnesota phone number because that is where we will be living. Does anyone know about the new phone number generation process and how to make it give me a phone number with a Minnesota area code rather than a Maine area code?

I transferred my number from my old carrier, so I'm not certain how setting up a new number works. However, in the worst case scenario, you should be able to give AT&T a call (1-800-331-0500), and they'll set it up for you.

Basic rule of thumb: Call AT&T for support with your account, service, or activation. Call Apple for support with syncing, iTunes, or the device itself.
