Our house was burglarized - lost all Macs, backup drives, and iPods. The only thing not stolen was our AppleTV. Apple Support could only tell me sorry, there's no "supported" way to get the content from it.

I'm thinking remove the drive and put it in an external enclosure. Does anyone know if this will work? If so, I'll go out and buy one right now, but I want to hear someone tell me for sure this will work first...

I'd already looked at that - I'm not trying to code some hack or create new functions, I just want to copy my content off of the machine. I did not see a guide for doing that on the site.

Turns out this was really easy - I popped the drive into a $29 enclosure from Radio Shack, it mounted no problem, and it was really easy to find the content and Add to Library back into iPhoto and iTunes. I did have to rebuild my rolls and albums in iPhoto, and my playlists in iTunes, but it was worth it.
