I have been trying to register the iPhone on Apple's product registration page but I can't see it there. Do we register these things for warranty? Please advise.

Umm? You register the iPhone when you activate it through iTunes. Okay?

Using Macs since they were Lisas.

And if you're using the hack to unlock the phone without activating AT&T service, well, don't expect to be able to register it with Apple.

I guess I will have to buy Apple Care. But the transferrable warranty should cover me anyway.

You are covered under the 1 year warranty when you plug your iPhone in the first time and go through the process of activating it. If you want an extra year then buy the Apple Care warranty.

I won't activate through iTunes. I did but cancelled out. Just another iPhone owner not in the US.

Well then you don't get a warranty to begin with.

BS.

I have a warranty card in my hand, and it is not from AT&T. Apple owes me warranty with the phone, it is included with the product, activated or not.

Well, have fun seeing if Apple will honor your warranty.

It comes with a 1 year, transferrable warranty, with or without a contract.

Well, why not call Apple's Customer Service line in your country and see what they have to say?
