It sounds like that Apple will have an event next Tuesday, August 7th for an iMac update and maybe other Mac updates. So when is this new iPod coming? It's obviously coming, Best Buy and other stores have lowered the iPods price. I think the week of September 17th we will see a new iPod show up. Why? Because that's when the student discount ends, besides getting more iPods out there it's meant to get rid of inventory. It wouldn't make sense to come out with an update to the iPod line with a month left for the deal, because Apple would have to either exclude the new iPod and anger a lot of eager buyers out of the deal or sell a lot of new iPods for cheep.
