There will soon be another iPhone update that supports the integration with the new .Mac Web Gallery feature. Maybe they'll sneak in some other stuff with it.

Wierd - the menu item for "send to web gallery" is already there.

Someone explain to me how this is all of the sudden enabled?
Is the phone accessing the web or did the recent 1.01 update post-date the ability to access this menu?

interesting indeed.

btw, it doesn't work unless you enable the option on .mac, updated to iLife '08 AND updated to version 7.01.

You have to tap the button on the lower left of the screen when you're browsing your photos (the button with the arrow). It will come up with options, one of them is "Send to Web Gallery"

Hey, it is there already. I didn't have to update anything (.mac, ilife, etc); it just appeared. They must have post-dated it. Sorry for the rush to judgment on the necessity of a software update. They outsmarted me again.

As opposed to it being post-dated, isn't it possible that it has been in the 1.0.1 update from its release, and it just wasn't spotted until the .Mac updates were pointed out (and thus we started looking for it)?

Just curious...
"Mac Daddy" - 15" MBP, 2.2 GHz Core i7, 8GB, 750GB HDD
"Mommy Mac" - 13" Macbook, 2.4GHz C2D, 2GB, 160GB
"Baby Mac" - 15" PB, 1.5GHz, 1.5GB, 80GB
64GB iPod Touch (4th gen)

Possible but I think someone would have noticed. Update has been out for a while.

Here's something interesting though. Go check out the sample gallery on apple.com in the iWeb section. Interesting how the site is optimized for the iPhone and how certain options aren't available (downloading, icon resizing, skimming) and only the grid view is shown. But, man it looks GREAT on the iPhone. Movies look good, images look good... Check it out and and post your comments.

It isn't showing up for me, and I have the update. So, it isn't just a time dated release.

Do you have a .Mac email account synced with your iPhone? I believe it wont show up as an option if you don't.

hopefully it adds a toggle to silence the incredibly annoying '0.00 remaining out of $x.xx' popups which get generated any time you use EDGE with a prepaid iPhone.

Seems to be a big complaint with prepaid iPhone users..

.Mac account... Check!
iPhone... Check!
.Mac e-mail on my iPhone... Check!
Syncs since Tuesday's announcements... 3.
Hours since the Apple Event ended... 19.

New .Mac Web Gallery Buttons... 0.

Anyone here use iFuntastic to rearrange the Home screen or add ringtones? I wonder whether such unauthorized mods could be blocking the new hotness and a Restore is in order?

That was it. I did a Restore (mainly b/c of my mail hassles), now I have the new button. Kind of anticlimactic, eh!?
